Marquette Beats BYU 69-52
(KUTV) KENTUCKY – BYU's big dance comes to an end in Kentucky today.
The Cougars lost to Marquette in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
But there were moments when it seemed a miracle would happen.
It's been a long time since BYU and Marquette have met – 1965 was the last time these two teams played.
But it was two nights ago that caught the attention of the Warriors and the nation as BYU rallied from 25 down to beat Iona.
And it was a similar story today as once again the Cougars fell behind. Junior Cadougan hit from behind the arch, and it started out 6-0 Marquette.
And then Jae Crowder dunked – taking it to 18-5! Another slow start for the Cougars!
But the Cougars rallied with Craig Cusik 3, and it continued into the second half with Brandon Davies dunk opening that.
But – despite the close game at some points – the final score was 69-52 with Marquette taking the win.
