Some Cougars Callling Out Critics
(KUTV) The college football season is underway and we are trying to make sense of all the predictions. There are seldom few repercussions those who are dead wrong.
But if you were--dead right about what took place in Provo on Thursday night, the Cougars might want to hear from you, because frankly Broncos kids are feeling a little disrespected by the doubters.
"It's an insult, a slap in the face," BYU linebacker Brandon Ogletree said Thursday night."We were a top-15 defense last year and I don't want hear about how we should be scared of anyone."
The Cougars defensive unit proved it may be one of the best BYU defenses in years, but the offense wasn't bad either. Tight end Kaneakua Friel caught six passes for 101 yards and two scores.
"[I'm] just grateful to playing with guys like Riley [Nelson]," Friel said. "He makes me be aggressive. You know, I'm not such an aggressive guy--normally off the field, but when I'm around those guys they pump me up."
BYU plays host Weber State this weekend and then travels to Utah the following week.
