RSL Slips Past Whitecaps 2-1
(KUTV) Real Salt Lake be will logging some serious mileage over the next few days. So getting a much needed 2-1 victory over Vancouver Friday night is just what Real (13-7-3) needed.

After its home win over the Whitecaps, RSL will head to Costa Rica on Tuesday and then it's off to Colorado on Saturday. But now, the team can build momentum as it prepares for the final stretch of the regular season.

As far as Friday's win is concerned, Alvaro Saborio scored a pair of goals and Javier Morales made a beautiful assist, allowing RSL to take a 2-1 advantage and essentially win the game.

Saborio opened the scoring by converting a penalty kick into a 1-0 RSL lead.

Vancouver drew even on a Darren Mattocks goal in the 52nd minute, but the Morales-Saborio connection delivered the game-winning shot just moments later.

Even though it was a somewhat sloppy match, RSL players said afterwards they were happy to get the 3 points.
