RSL Crushes San Jose With Early Goals
(KUTV) It was a perfect night for soccer. Great weather, pretty goals and a dominating performance by the home team. RSL crushed San Jose with three first half goals and cruised to the victory.
Javier Morales opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Robbie Findley’s shot was saved, but Morales pounced on the rebound. In the 33rd minute Robbie Findley raced down the right side, crossed the ball, Joao Plata dummied it and Ned Grabavoy slammed the shot into the roof for a 2-0 lead.
Then in the 39th minute, Plata freed himself along the end line with a sweet move, his cross was poorly cleared and fell to Robbie Findley just inside the 18 yard box on the left side. Findley curled a shot around the keeper and into the side of the net for a 3-0 lead. Nick Rimando made three big saves in the 2nd half as RSL won 3-0.
San Jose is now 1-5-5 in their last 11, with a single win in March, April and the first Day of June. The Earthquakes still haven’t won a road game. RSL hosts the L.A. Galaxy Saturday.
