BYU Crushes Idaho State 59-13
PROVO, Utah (AP) — Jamaal Williams ran for 131 yards and three TDs — Adam Hine added 141 and a score — as BYU dismantled Idaho State 59-13 on Saturday.
BYU (7-3) had 578 total yards of offense and rushed for 421 and five TDs. The 59 points were the most since a 59-21 win over UNLV in 2009.
The Cougars won handily despite both teams turning the ball over three times. For BYU, Taysom Hill tossed three INTs.
Idaho State (3-8, 1-6 Big Sky) had an equal number of first downs as BYU (22), but was 8 of 24 on third down. The Bengals' lone TD came on a Luke Austin 6-yard catch from Justin Arias. Idaho State had just 287 yards of total offense.
Twenty-two BYU seniors played their final home game — with an announced attendance of 58,645. After the game, all of the focus shifted to next week's game at Notre Dame.
