5A, 4A, And 3A Football Champions Are Crowned
(KUTV) Timpview beat Mountain Crest 38-31 in double-overtime and they did it in breathtaking fashion. In overtime Timpview quarterback Jake Lloyd found Connor Mendivil in the end zone for an heroic touchdown to tie the game at 31.

Then Lloyd scrambled 7-yards for the game-winning score in the second overtime. Lloyd was the star of the game throwing for 328 yards and three touchdowns to help Timpview to its fifth state championship in the last seven seasons.

In Class 5A, Jordan pounded undefeated Syracuse 58-2. Quarterback Austin Kafentzis threw three touchdowns and ran for three more. Jordan opened up a 30-0 lead and never looked back, in one the most lopsided title games in recent memory.

The Titans played without star quarterback Brock Anderson and managed only 62 yards of total offense--the lowest in a Utah high school championship game since 1976. Conversely, the 58 points Jordan put on the board was not only eye-popping but the second highest total in state title game history.

Dixie came away as a surprise winner over Spanish Fork. The Dons have never won a state title but they were slight favorites heading into Championship Friday.

For Dixie it's been 14-years since the Flyers last laid claim to a state championship, and behind the strong arm of quarterback Blake Barney, who threw for almost 300 and ran for a score, the Flyers defeated Spanish Fork 49-21 to capture the 3A crown.
