RSL Looking For Rare Win In D.C.
(KUTV) An RSL star hit an important milestone in the opener, now the franchise tries to break new ground in the season’s second game.
Real Salt Lake’s schedule looked imposing at first glance, and in the end it may be a serious problem. RSL opens the 2013 MLS season by playing five of the first seven games on the road, but as daunting as that sounds, it is mitigated by RSL’s season opening 2-0 win at San Jose.
Goalkeeper Nick Rimando registered the 100th shutout of his MLS career and RSL earned the full three points.
Now RSL heads to DC United for the season’s second game. RSL has never won an MLS match in D.C., they have five losses and three draws in 8 tries, but they have often played in summer heat and humidity and sometimes in the 3rd game in 8 days.
This time RSL has no midweek game and temperatures are expected to be in the 50s. After DC United RSL returns home to face Colorado. Watch the KUTV story here.
