Rockies-Mariners Exhibition Is A Hit
(KUTV) For the first time in 43 years, two Major League Baseball teams played in Utah Saturday afternoon.
The Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners played in front of a sellout crowd at Spring Mobile Ball Park. For some it was a walk down memory lane, since many of these players had come through Utah before as minor leaguers. For baseball lovers and historians it was slice of Americana.
Colorado took a 2-1 lead in the 4th inning when Todd Helton went yard for a solo home run.
In the 8th, Seattle got a sacrifice fly from Brad Miller and the M's took a 4-2 lead. Colorado got a run in the bottom of the 8th to make it a one run game. But that's how it ended, as Seattle hung on for a 4-3 victory.
