Kyle Whittingham Sees The Good, Bad And Ugly In Spring Ball
(KUTV) Utah coach Kyle Whittingham didn't dish out the typical happy talk during the Utes' latest Spring ball scrimmage.
Whittingham said he saw a lot of good things but he also saw his team revert back to self-destructive tendencies, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.
He cited poor snaps, dropped balls and overthrows as head scratching drive killers and hopes the team can evolve.
"Right now we're still knocking at the door but we haven't been
able to break through," Whittingham said after Saturday's scrimmage.
On the positive side, the coach was impressed with the team's running attack. "We ran the ball effectively," Whittingham said. "That was a big positive."
In the big picture the Utes' coach is happy with the way the offense and he says they're on their way to becoming a very good offense but the team has learn from its mistakes.
Utah will play its Spring Game this Saturday at noon.
