Foye Delivers In 95-86 Win Over Lakers
(KUTV) Kobe Bryant had 29 points and Dwight Howard chipped in with 19 points but it wasn't enough to cool down a hot-shooting performance by Jazz guard Randy Foye. His 17 points off the bench sparked the Jazz to a 95-86 win over the 1-4 Lakers.
The Jazz beat the Lakers Wednesday night thanks inpart, to a Jazz bench that outscored their counterparts 36-12. Foye was the catalyst, hitting on five 3-pointers, including three straight in the fourth quarter. Center Al Jefferson also played a big role in the win, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Jazz led by as many as 16-points but LA closed to within five with just under 9 minutes remaining in the game. That's when Foye took over launching and hitting on three straight 3-pointers to provide the Jazz with an 79-68 lead.
Mo Williams was steady, contributing 16 points and 7 assists. Marvin Williams and Paul Millsap combined to score 18 points and haul down 13 rebounds, as the Jazz improved 2-3 on the season. Utah plays at Denver Friday night.
