Lakers Snap Jazz's Win-Streak 102-84
(KUTV) Simply put: The Utah Jazz didn't play well and the Lakers did, as Kobe Bryant collected a double-double in the L.A.'s 102-84 victory over the Jazz Friday night at Staples Center.
The Lakers got an unexpected boost from Metta World Peace, who made five 3's and scored 17 points. Dwight Howard was also big in the win, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, as the Lakers improved to 18-13 on the season.
Meanwhile, Utah's record slips to 23-20 overall, but the Jazz could have completed a rare season sweep of the Lakers. However a slow start by the Jazz in the first quarter and a Lakers serge in the 4th quarter was enough to snap Utah's four-game win streak.
Derrick Favors came off the bench to led the Jazz with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Al Jefferson led the Utah starters with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Utah returns home Saturday night to face the Indiana Pacers.
