Connect With Jamie McGriff

Jamie McGriff is our 4, 7 and 9 pm Anchor and handles reports from our Live Breaking News Desk for the 5, 6, and 10 pm shows.

McGriff joins us from the port city of Mobile, Alabama (the birthplace of America’s original Mardi Gras).

While there she worked with our sister station WPMI, as the Morning Breaking News Reporter and Noon Anchor.

During her time living along the Gulf Coast, McGriff developed and used her skills with live news feeds and social media platforms to cover local, national, international stories for the morning show.

While reporting out in the field she covered various news stories including Covid-19’s impact on schools and the historic 2020 hurricane season. It was in that year she was on the front lines doing live reports as Hurricane Sally made landfall along the Gulf Coast.

It’s an experience she said she will never forget.

Overall her path as a television journalist has taken her to a number of places including; Tulsa, Las Vegas and Memphis, Tennessee.

Along the way she’s learned the ropes of storytelling and the art of live reporting and anchoring.

She’s a proud graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama (where she was raised) and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

McGriff says she’s a cook, foodie, cat lover, and loves cool events and adventures!

So, send her an email, jmcgriff@sbgtv.com with suggestions on where to visit, where to eat in Utah and where she might be able to find a beautiful Persian or Bengal cat to adopt!
