Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah Partners with Youthlinc to Collect Donations

(KUTV) Salt Lake City - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU) and Youthlinc are kicking off a month-long donation drive to benefit both organizations. Nancy Winemille-Basinger of BBSU, and Justin Powell of Youthlinc sat down with Kari & Brooke today to talk about their combined goal of collecting 140,000 lbs of clothing, books, toys, and other household goods and how reaching this goal will help to send students on service projects locally and internationally.

Donation Drive Dates:

  • Saturday, March 3 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 10 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 17 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 24 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 7 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

About Nancy Winemiller-Basinger:

Nancy Winemiller-Basinger is the President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. a position she has held for 3 years. Prior to coming to Big Brothers Big Sisters Nance was a Professor at the University of Utah for 12 years. As a former Big Sister, Nancy passionately believes that one-to-one mentoring can help at-risk kids become the people they were meant to be.

About Justin Powell:

Justin Powell is the Executive Director of Youthlinc. Justin has been working with Youthlinc first as a mentor and later as a staff member for 10 years. Before working at Youthlinc Justin taugh English, History and Business to high school students.
