How a Utah treatment center is helping teen girls with anxiety
KUTV — Between social media, school, friends, and now the pandemic--kids are juggling a ton. As a result, many teenagers struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety or depression.
Cascade Academy in Midway, Utah is a residential treatment center focused on treating teen girls that struggle with severe anxiety. Since teen girls are twice as likely to experience anxiety as boys, Cascade Provides inpatient care for girls ages 13 - 18.
Cascade Academy helps their patients expand their comfort zones in what they call the "Growth Zone", through therapy and experiences such as outreach in the community and outdoor recreational activities. Their mission is to help their patients expand their world and opportunities by becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable.
