KUTV — The following information is provided by The Hyatt Regency.
In the heart of downtown Salt Lake, on the sixth floor of the new Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, is the Spanish-inspired restaurant Mar | Muntanya.
Helmed by executive chef and Salt Lake City local Tyson Peterson, the inviting, upscale restaurant serves up a lively dining experience celebrating an interpretation of the culture and flavors of Northern Spanish cuisine with a Salt Lake twist. Equally appetizing views of the surrounding skyline and mountain scenery wow diners. Kari spoke to Chef Tyson about some of the menu favorites.
With a name meaning ‘sea and mountain,’ the menu combines regional specialties from land and sea while highlighting the culinary bounty found in and around Salt Lake City.
Sophisticated yet approachable, the menu focuses on Chef Peterson’s interpretation of tapas-style dining with small or individual shareable portions. Farm-to-table dining is a cornerstone of the restaurant, embracing the state of Utah’s preservation and homesteading heritage which parallels the shepherding communities in Northern Spain.
The restaurant features a wide variety of local ingredients, from purveyors including Niman Ranch, Wasatch Meats, Park City Creamery, Beehive Cheese and more.
On the restaurant’s adjacent outdoor, rooftop terrace, newly installed dining globes are an ideal setting for taking in vista views of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains while dining. The cozy wood and clear glass structures accommodate groups of up to six people, and are ideal for a business lunch, brunch with a group of friends, or a romantic dinner out on the town.
