(KUTV) Salt Lake City - This generation of children have been exposed to school violence and the threat of violence more so than any other generation. All children beginning in kindergarten go through armed intruder drills. These experiences are increasing childhood anxiety significantly, which can impact school attendance, daily functioning, and relationships. Clair Mellenthin, child and family therapist, sat down with Kari, Brooke, & Caitlin today with tips for parents on how to navigate anxiety in their children and advocate for them when needed.
