Special event for breast cancer survivors

Image Reborn Foundation Responds to Sexual Health Need among Breast Cancer Survivors Sandy, UT. On April 29, 2023, Image Reborn will hold “Taking Back the ‘O’ After Breast Cancer,” a special event for up to 300 breast cancer survivors at the Miller Free Enterprise Center at the Salt Lake Community College Sandy campus to learn and discuss sexual health concerns in a safe and comfortable environment.
While Utah is home to incredible medical resources for breast cancer treatment, many medical teams don’t know where to start when it comes to addressing the physical intimacy concerns that come along with breast cancer and accompanying treatments. In 2022, Image Reborn served 136 women at retreats, of which 57% indicated that they had experienced changes in their desire for physical intimacy since their diagnosis. To address this important need, Image Reborn invites survivors to attend “Taking Back the ‘O’ After Breast Cancer” in conjunction with experts in Sex Therapy, Gynecology, Pelvic Floor, and Breast Reconstruction.
Breast cancer-related resources and vendors will also be present during the event as well as a live Q&A panel consisting of breast cancer survivors willing to candidly share their personal experiences navigating marriage and committed relationships, living single and dating, and choosing to undergo breast reconstruction – or not.
Speakers and partners include: Natasha Fett, PT, DPT Dr. Jordan Rullo, Clinical Psychologist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Dr. Camille Moreno, OBGYN Dr. Renato Saltz, MD, Plastic Surgeon Huntsman Cancer Institute Sofwave Tissue (ultrasound technology) Anyone ever diagnosed with breast cancer is encouraged to attend. Friends and family of a survivor are urged to spread the word. Many of us are unaware when a loved one is internally struggling with these private matters.
