Most people want a healthier lifestyle, but it isn’t always easy to make changes. However, we have a lot of resources to help Utahns make those changes.

Food as Medicine is a FREE 3-part virtual workshop series available to all Utahns. This webinar will teach you how to use food and a healthy lifestyle to prevent and help treat chronic illness. Each session includes a cooking demonstration, expert advice to help you make healthy lifestyle changes, and an introduction to evidence-based wellness programs offered in Utah.

Experts from USU Extension Nutrition or the University of Utah Wellness Bus will provide a cooking demo at each session. You’ll get easy, low cost ways to eat healthy, and learn the best ways to do things like chop an onion or make recipe substitutions. You’ll also get lots of great practical advice about how to include healthy foods that many Utahns don’t eat enough of, like nuts and seeds, fruits and vegetables, and seafood.

Everyone who signs up will get a free e-recipe book filled with delicious recipes like:

  • Instant pot white bean stew
  • Three sisters salad
  • Chili-lime sheet pan tilapia and veggies

The Food as Medicine workshop has a great lineup of experts to teach us how to live a healthier life.

  • November 9th you’ll learn tips and tricks for healthy shopping.
  • December 7th you’ll learn easy ways to eat right.
  • January 12th you’ll learn about making movement work for you.
  • We’ll have a Spanish language session on November 4th.
