(KUTV) It’s something that frustrates many women because no matter how much they exercise and focus on what they eat, some people just can’t get rid of cellulite. However, there’s now an FDA approved procedure that claims to get rid of those skin dimples.
Sarah Call, mother of four and Fun Dance fitness instructor, has been bothered by her cellulite for years.
“We all have it. It doesn’t matter how fit you are. It doesn’t’ matter how much you do and how much you work out. It’s there,” says Sarah.
Along with diet and exercise, she’s tried a number of things to get rid of her cellulite, but none of them have worked.
“We haven’t had good solutions before. Weight loss, dieting, fitness, wraps, all other sorts of creams, lotions, and potions really have no impact on the problem,” says Dr. Brian Brzowski.
But now, Cellfina, a new FDA approved procedure, promises to get rid of cellulite. Cellulite is caused by fibrous tissue that pulls at the skin and creates a dimple.
“If you think of a ceiling that’s made out of helium balloons, and you have a string coming down, and you’re pulling on that string, it creates a dimple where the string is,” describes Dr. Brzowski.
With this treatment, they’re able to cut those strings, releasing the tightness and allowing the “balloon” to return to the surface.
For best results, it’s important to be in good shape before the procedure.
“Certainly if you’re significantly overweight this would not be a good treatment for you. So the closer you are to your ideal bodyweight, the better candidate you are,” says Dr. Brzowski.
Sarah says she was able to go back to work a day after the procedure and couldn’t be happier with the results. She says being healthy is still a number one priority, but that it’s nice to feel a bit more confident.
“I think it’s fantastic to be able to still work out and do as much as you can health wise and still have a little bit of help on the side,” says Sarah.
