Inside the Story: 13-year-old invents creative new lawn game
(KUTV) — A 13-year-old boy has invented a lawn game that he hopes will be a big hit with families.
Knock 'Em is an active and strategic game played outside that can involve anywhere from two to eight players.
"You have the first version that is more slower, but it's more strategic--moving things around--and then you have the other version that is more fast-paced," said Jeston Jacobson, Knock 'Em's creator.
The game involves various towers, and the whole objective to the game is to be the last tower standing--and knock everyone else's down.
Jacobson has been working on the game for about two years. It all began when he started playing with some dice.
"I was just kind of messing around with dice and then I came up with these little towers that I flip dice at," he said. "And then it turned into a game that my dad thought could be a good yard game."
So he and his father went to work, drawing up different designs and rules. They went through different versions of towers until they found the perfect design.
The Jacobsons created a Kickstarter campaign, hoping to raise money to pay for a mold that would allow them to mass produce the game.
"We are excited of what it can bring into people's homes," Jacobson said.
His dream is to get the game up and running and ready for sale on Amazon.
