People fighting cancer often become consumed by their treatments. There are doctor visits, blood tests, radiation and chemotherapy. Getting a break from cancer, even if for just a few hours or days, can bring new hope. That's where Greg Thorpe comes in.

Greg's wife, Jennifer, is being treated for stage four colon cancer. Greg spends a lot of time at the hospital with his wife of 24-years. He realized many of the other patients in the infusion rooms spend most of their days fighting the disease. Greg wanted to give them a break so he created Just-a-Break from Cancer.

The non-profit gathers donated gift certificates from restaurants and hotels. Those gift certificates provide a special opportunity for patients to get away. Maybe it's a nice date night or a weekend stay.

"You can catch your breath again and get back in the fight," says Greg. "Face another day."

While many of these special gifts are donated Greg often finds himself digging into his own pocket. He wants to spread the love but needs some help.

Watch Just-a-Break's great story above and maybe you can find ways to help.

You can learn more or donate to Just-a-Break online at Just A Break or on their Facebook page.
