(KUTV) Akwasi Frimpong describes his life as "busy, but exciting."

He trained here in Utah for several weeks before heading to Europe for competitions.

He has accomplished a lot in his athletic career, but he's not ready to celebrate yet.

"I don't feel like I'm where I want to be yet per se. There's so much that I want to achieve," he said.

Frimpong says his drive to win and succeed came from being a boy growing up in Ghana.

"I never was in organized sports growing up in Ghana. We didn't have that," he explained.

He and his friends would just play outside--trying to show off and beat each other in races and more.

"From then on, I wanted to be on a bigger stage," he said. "I wanted to know what it feels like to be a winner, to be on the biggest stage in the world."
