(KUTV) Dr. Renato Saltz is the president of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
It covers plastic surgeons from 102 countries around the world.
"We all face very similar issues and patients face very similar problems worldwide," he said.
His number one priority with the society is patient safety.
"We're establishing a lot of new projects and a lot of new protocols to protect individuals in India, Russia, in Afghanistan, in Pakistan--all over the world," he said.
He wants to see standards of care and safety all over the world. There are many people out there who offer cosmetic procedures, but aren't qualified to perform them.
"It's scary when you see patients going after what they see on Instagram," he said.
He encourages people to find plastic surgeons who are trained and certified.
"Don't just go to the cheapest guy in town," he said. "You can get hurt or you can die."
