(KUTV) As reports of package theft sweep the country this Christmas season, Jeff Lind of Codeword joined us to show off some useful products protect against such theft.

Lind showed us the Landport, a box that comes in multiple colors and sizes, which can be opened with a key or code. Its heavy duty latch keeps your packages secure until you are able to retrieve them.

In order to use the box, bolt it down to your entryway, then share a unique access code with carriers via online delivery preferences or second address line.

The Landport only takes 15 minutes to set up and can be purchased from the Landport website.

The following options are available for the Landport:

  • Essential cube: $499
  • Essential rectangle: $599
  • Deluxe rectangle: $799

Lind also explained the value of the Nest Cam IQ, which is Nest's newest and most advanced indoor security camera.

The Nest Cam IQ, which is available for $299, is designed to help you monitor your home and family from anywhere with enhanced software and a beautiful design.

According to Lind, this product has serious processing power, so it can do things like tell a person from a tree blowing in the wind, and even recognize faces with Nest Aware.

With best-in-class video and audio, 24/7 video streaming, a 4K camera and person alerts, Nest Cam IQ sends alerts that matter so you never have to worry about missing an important moment.

The Maximus Smart Security Light is another product Lind introduced us to, an outdoor lighting fixture that is equipped with a two-way speaker and Wi-Fi camera that detects people at your door.

Maximus works with a free mobile app that is available in iOS and Android. It sends real-time alerts to your smartphone, through the mobile app, so you can keep an eye on who's at your front door, sound an alarm to scare off a potential intruder, and speak to those who are stopping by directly through the app no matter where you are.

You can view recorded events for up to two hours in the app.

The light adds another layer of security as it gets dark earlier, and it's a great way to keep an eye on the home during holiday travel.

Installation is easy, taking only about fifteen minutes.

The Maximus has a waterproof design and continuous power, which means you never need to replace batteries. It comes in four styles: Craftsman, Traditional, Contemporary, and Coach.

You can buy the Maximus for $179 through Home Depot and Best Buy.

Lind showed us how wonderful a product the Ring Doorbell is, a next generation video doorbell that sends you instant alerts in 1080 HD video whenever someone rings the bell.

The Ring Doorbell has a built in microphone and speakers. Motion detectors send you an alert whenever someone is at your door. It also includes infrared night vision to see who's at the door during evening hours.

This product features a live video feed that you can always access from your app. It is powered by rechargeable batteries, which you get two packs of so the doorbell is never without power.

The app used is compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows 10.

The Ring Doorbell has a 1 year warranty on parts, and a lifetime purchase protection. It is weather resistant and workable from -5 degrees to 120.

You can purchase this product for $199. To record the videos it is $30 per year (per camera) or $3 per month.
