SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The trial for Lori Vallow Daybell in the murder of her children has been moved from October to January 2023 to remain combined with the trial of her husband, Chad Daybell.
The trial had been scheduled to start on Oct. 11 at the Ada County Courthouse in Idaho. Both have been scheduled for Jan. 9, 2023.
At the time the jury trial for Chad Daybell was scheduled, Vallow Daybell had been ruled incompetent to stand trial. That changed in April.
The two trials had never been formally separated. Prosecutors filed earlier in May for the court to reschedule her trial to “prevent improper severance.”
Vallow Daybell’s attorneys had also filed paperwork saying they needed more time to prepare her defense, indicating they would support the schedule change.
