(KUTV) One person has died in a plane crash in Southern Utah on Monday, according to Grand County Sheriff's Office officials.
A single engine airplane hit a powerline and crashed, leading to the death of one individual at 5:48 a.m, said Grand County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Manager Rick Bailey.
The Quest Kodiak single-engine airplane was taking off from the Canyonlands Airport when it hit a high voltage powerline, Bailey said. The plane crashed and a man, who has not yet been identified, died.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the crash.
