(KUTV) — The University of Utah Seismography Stations (UUSS) reported 102 small earthquakes have hit near Bluffdale between Feb. 13 and 21.
Reports say the largest was a 3.7 magnitude, which occurred at 5:09 a.m. on Feb. 15.
Thirteen of the earthquakes hit before the 3.7 magnitude and 88 others are considered aftershocks. Five were larger than 2.0, including 2.5 magnitude, according to UUSS.
These small shakes have not caused significant damage. In Utah, an earthquake usually needs to be larger than 6.0 magnitude for surface break to occur.
Small earthquakes actually occur in Utah everyday, UUSS reports. One in 20 of those have a chance of being a foreshock to a larger earthquake within five days.
