(KUTV) - Parents in Saratoga Springs, Utah got a scare today after their teenage boy decided to walk across lightly frozen Utah Lake after an argument.

Utah County search and rescue crews were called out to get the boy off the lake.

The boy's trek began from Pelican Bay Marina in Saratoga Springs.

Just as crews were pulling up at the Lindon Marina, the boy finished his trek, which is estimated at roughly 6 miles according to The Utah County Sheriff's Office.

Sergeant Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff's Office says the kid is lucky he didn't fall in as the lake is thinly frozen in some spots.

The only time the teenager punched through the ice where his last two steps.

He was warmed up in a patrol car and his parents were called.
