(KUTV) — Two drivers are in critical condition after one crashed head-on into the other in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, police say.
For unknown reasons, the driver of a Toyota Camry traveling westbound on 1300 South swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding with an eastbound pickup truck.
The crash was reported at about 6:30 p.m. in the area of 1300 South and about 600 West, said Lt. Jenn Diederich with the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Diederich said the road in that area was expected to remain closed until about 8:30 p.m. while police wrapped up their investigation.
Both the Camry driver, a man in his 40s, and the truck driver, a man in his 50s, were in critical condition but were expected to survive, Diederich said.
No alcohol was found on scene, and police said they were still unsure what caused the Camry driver to swerve.
