4-Year-old falls out of four-story apartment building in Herriman
(KUTV) — A 4-year-old boy fell out of a four-story building Tuesday afternoon in Herriman. The child is expected to survive.
Police say the fall happened at 1:22 p.m. after the child leaned against a window screen at the Copperwood Apartments. The boy's parents heard him scream when he fell and said he was conscious when he was taken by air to a hospital.
A man told 2News he heard the child hit the air conditioning unit when he fell.
"It was awful," he said.
The child landed on an air conditioning unit below and was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in serious condition, police told 2News.
The extent of the child's injuries are unknown.
