(KUTV)- A 75-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a car Friday evening.
According to Sgt. Clint Bobrowski with the Layton Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:15 PM near 737 North Main St. in Layton.
Bobrowski told 2News the woman decided to cross Main St. without a crosswalk. Police believe the woman made it across southbound lanes, a vehicle in the turning lane stopped for her and she continued to step out into traffic unaware of oncoming cars.
Due to obstacles and not being able to stop in time going 40mph, a northbound vehicle struck the woman.
