Another Sandy fire makes at least four in one week
(KUTV) - A house fire in Sandy has made for a busy week for firefighters.
“It’s been kind of a weird run here. Certainly more (fires) than normal," Battalion Chief Chris Dawson said.
Sunday's fire happened around 5:20 p.m. at a home at 10300 South Locksley Drive in Sandy.
The home is owned by a neighbor who was renovating it to make it a rental.
Sandy City fire crews believe the fire started in the attic because of wiring problems.
Damage was limited mostly to the attic and roof and crews were able to get the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
Dawson says last week the department has seen a lot of fires.
None of the fires are related.
