Bodies of missing pilot, passenger found in Great Salt Lake

(KUTV) - The bodies of two men missing since December 29, 2017, were found today in the Great Salt Lake.

The bodies of 71-year-old Denny Mansell and 74-year-old Peter Ellis were pulled from inside the plane underneath 20-feet of water.

The NTSB is investigating the crash and will remove the airplane from the lake at a later date.

The families are doing well, but are requesting privacy.

The Box Elder County Sheriffs Department expressed condolences… saying they’re grateful they could bring closure to the family

The sheriff says this is the most technical dive his department has ever attempted.

Efforts to reach the airplane were delayed by bad weather on Sunday, January 7.
