UPDATE (4:55 p.m.) - 2News has confirmed that a storage unit building is on fire. Roughly 20 units are affected.

Crews from Murray Fire, United Fire Authority, and South Salt Lake Fire are responding, but taking a defensive approach by surrounding the structure rather than going to it directly.

One person in a nearby business had a pre-existing breathing condition and was taken to the hospital with minor smoke inhalation.

300 West between 5300 South and 5900 South is closed until further notice.

Two people were seen near the building before the fire. Investigators want to talk to them but are not saying they are suspects or that the fire is suspicious.

(KUTV) - Fire crews are responding to a 2-alarm fire showing heavy smoke near 5564 South 300 West in Murray.

No word on the cause or what building is on fire, but it appears to be a large industrial or storage type building.

It's unknown what's inside of if anybody is injured. Police are also on scene investigating.

2News reporter Cristine Flores is on the scene.
