Burglars put a lot of effort into break-in, leave empty handed

(KUTV) When Scott Crabill was awakened by his alarm company after midnight on Sunday, he expected a false alarm. He showed up to find the entire front entrance to his Go-Ride bike store in South Salt Lake was missing.

Surveillance video shows at least two people in a large, flatbed truck backing into the front entrance of the store and busting through two glass and metal walls and double doors. The truck made it into the sales floor, but then the suspects quickly drive out of the store, dragging a large piece of the metal door behind them as they took off.

"I think they just panicked," said Crabill of the burglars.

Police agree. They say someone drove by as the suspects broke in and that may have frightened them, so they took off.

Officer Gary Keller said it appeared the truck was stolen.
