FISHLAKE, Utah (KUTV) — Utah officials and dive teams said they are searching Fish Lake in Sevier County for a 13-year-old boy who went missing after a boat capsized.
Sevier County Sheriffs Office officials said they were dispatched after receiving reports of the boat that capsized Friday in Central Utah.
They said a father and son had gone fishing with a friend. At around 3:30 a.m., the father and son dropped off their friend and headed back on the lake to fish more.
Just before 8 a.m., some nearby fishermen reported hearing someone yelling for help. They located the father and told officials they were able to get him to shore.
He was taken to Sevier Valley Hospital to be treated for exposure to hypothermia.
Officers said they are still searching for the 13-year-old son with resources from Sevier County, Utah Highway Patrol/Department of Public Safety dive teams, the state fire marshal’s office, and Utah State Parks.
