A motion for a change of venue was filed by Chad Daybell's lawyer on Friday for his upcoming trial in January 2021.

His lawyer wants to move the trial because he does not believe Daybell would get a fair and impartial jury in Fremont County. However, Daybell's lawyer did not offer any suggestions on where the trial should be moved to. Fremont County is home to the Daybell property where his stepchildren's bodies were found.

In the same week, his lawyer also asked the court to drop charges, citing insufficient evidence.

The charges were filed against him in June after the bodies of his stepchildren, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, were found on his Idaho property. Daybell married the children’s mother, Lori Vallow, in November 2019, two months after the children were last seen.
