Spanish Fork boy killed after car backs over him in driveway
Spanish Fork, Utah — (KUTV) A 3-year-old boy was killed Wednesday after he was run over by a car backing out of a driveway in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Police said the boy came around a corner and rode his pedal bike behind the car. A woman, driving a sedan, didn't see the child while backing out of the driveway. Police said it appears to be a tragic accident and drugs and alcohol did not play a part in the incident. It happened in a neighborhood around 1420 South and 1100 East.
The boy initially survived but was in extremely critical condition and did not survive after he was taken to the hospital. He was run over around 3:15 p.m.
The woman driving was said to be so distraught that she had to be attended to by medical personnel.
