(KUTV) — A 34-year-old man from Colorado was taken to the hospital after crashing while skydiving in Tooele Saturday afternoon.

North Tooele Fire District says the man had a hard fall and got his parachute tied up in a fence.

The man suffered a compound fracture in his leg and applied a tourniquet after he landed.

A medical helicopter transported him to the University of Utah hospital.

North Tooele Fire District says these "hard falls" aren't uncommon, and usually result in broken legs.
