SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A crash was blocking four northbound lanes of Interstate 15 on Friday night, the Utah Highway Patrol reports.
UHP says bald tires were the reason for the crash, which happened near 7400 South.
The highway patrol tweeted photos of the crash and the tires on the vehicle they say caused it.
There were no injuries in Friday's crash, but UHP reminded drivers of the potential dangers of driving with bald tires, citing an incident that occurred on Highway 40 on Tuesday.
"However, that wasn't the case the other day when a truck with bald tires lost control on US Highway 40 and took the life of an innocent person," UHP said.
One person was killed and three were injured in the crash near Strawberry Reservoir. Investigators suspected poor tire tread may have been a factor in the crash at the time.
