Family, friends mourn after death of former Southern Utah football player

Taelin Webb, a former Southern Utah University football cornerback has died unexpectedly.

Webb was 26 years old at the time of his death. On Wednesday, the Southern Utah University football team reported his death via Twitter.

Originally from Fresno, Calif., Webb came to Utah to play football. He majored in communications throughout his time at SUU, according to a SUU website.

Webb was a football player for the Thunderbirds from 2016 to 2018. He appeared in ten games for the Thunderbirds in 2018, totaling 36 tackles and recording three tackles for seven yards.

Webb's athletic profile states that he enjoyed the movie Hercules, that his favorite food was seafood, that his favorite pro-athlete was Dwayne Wade, and that his favorite artist was Lil Wayne.

Friends, colleagues and officials are sending their condolences to the family in such a tragic time.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help families with funeral costs.
