(KUTV) A conservative special-interest group announced their endorsement for Johnathon Johnson in his run for Governor Tuesday.
FreedomWorks, an organization with the tagline "Government fails, freedom works," said in a press conference that Gov. Gary Herbert is a "nice guy," but Johnson is their ideal candidate.
FreedomWorks said Johnson's business background and conservative ways are shared between them.
This DC-based organization now spans the nation and is closely affiliated with the Koch brothers, who are known to give big money to some conservative candidates.
However, the group's financial support for Johnson was never mentioned at the press conference.
