(KUTV) — A man with a gunshot wound was brought into a Preston, Idaho hospital on Thursday morning, where he died.
But the people who brought him in said he suffered the fatal wound at a mobile home park in Layton—Lakeview Estates.
The Layton Police Department was notified of the fatality Thursday morning at 9 a.m., said Lieutenant Travis Lyman, a public information officer for the department. Lyman said they're investigating the death as a homicide.
Police believe the man was shot sometime overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, but Lyman did not know what time the three arrived at the hospital in Preston.
Layton officers went out to Lakeview Estates, where they found bullet holes in the walls of one of the mobile homes. Seven people were at the home, Lyman said, whom police began to interview. No arrests were made on Thursday.
Lyman noted that there were no reports of shots fired or a shooting incident made to Layton police on Wednesday night.
Police did not release the identity of the deceased.
The incident remains under investigation.
