VIDEO: Real estate expert's houseboat sinking at Lake Powell captures viewers' attention
(KUTV) -- Jimmy Rex is a motivational speaker and real estate expert who now may add to his insignia - viral video sensation - after a Facebook post captured viewers' attention of his houseboat sinking.
"The houseboat didn't actual sink and no one was injured whatsoever," Rex said to 2News in a phone conversation.
The popular video posted Wednesday from a Memorial Day weekend vacation in Lake Powell had more than 162K views as of Thursday afternoon.
Music from the theme song of the movie, "Titanic," played in the background as Rex did everything he could to save his vessel - at times even nervously laughing at the situation.
The local coast guard assisted Rex and his passengers to safety. The rescuers told Rex that he saved his boat by continuing to throttle forward rather than abandoning ship.
