(KUTV) — A house sustained an estimated $150,000 in damages in West Valley City late Friday afternoon.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., reports were called into dispatch of a house fire near 2800 West and 3800 South. Fire crews arrived and found lots of smoke and a house partially engulfed with flames coming out of the windows and doors.
Thirty firefighters spent 25 minutes putting the fire out. There were two adults and three children at home when the fire started but were safely evacuated with no injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown. However, the family told firefighters they heard a loud pop and believe the fire started on the back deck of the home.
