(UPDATE: 1/25/19 8:27 p.m.) -- Officers with the Unified Police Department have arrested both parents of an infant who was found dead at a Midvale Motel 6 Friday afternoon.

21-year-old Jose Ramirez and 20-year-old Jessica Lujan have both been arrested and booked for child neglect homicide, according to Unified Police.

(KUTV) — Investigators are calling the death an infant at a Utah motel "suspicious."

According to Unified Police, officers were called to the Motel 6 near 7200 South Catalpa Street around 1:30 p.m. on an unrelated matter.

While police were on scene, a 911 call from the same motel came into dispatchers who alerted the officers to respond to another room on the property.

Sgt. Melody Gray told 2News that when officers went into the room, a 4-month-old child was unresponsive on the bed and later died. It is not yet known why the child died but its parents are being questioned.

The child's parents and another child were also in the room, according to police.

A Unified Police mobile crime lab has responded to the scene as well.
