(KUTV) -- Who doesn’t love a good kiss? Now is your chance to lip-lock officially in the name of International Kissing Day, which is Friday.

Nationaltoday.com released it's latest survey after polling 1,000 Americans about smooching.

The results are:

36% OF AMERICANS GOT THEIR FIRST KISS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL

22% said they started kissing in elementary school and 26% started in high school. 8% didn't have their first kiss until they were college-aged.

14% OF AMERICANS LET THEIR PETS KISS THEM ON THE MOUTH

Yet 11% say they're grossed out when their parents kiss in front of them. Other kissing quirks include: kissing people as a dare (31%), checking their breath before they kiss someone (42%), and putting on chapstick to get ready (12%).

2% OF AMERICANS HAVE NEVER BEEN KISSED

The majority of them (62%) are men who are between the ages of 18-24 (54%) or 25-34 (31%).

#1: Bad breath (58%)

#2: Too much tongue (20%)

#3: Teeth (10%)

#4: Not enough tongue (6%)

#5: Eye contact (6%)
