UPDATE: Layton police contact family of man hit, killed by car after asking for help

(UPDATE: January 11:51 a.m.) -- The victim's family has been contacted and notified, Logan police confirmed.

(KUTV) -- The Layton City Police Department is seeking the public's help finding the family of a victim who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Dec. 18, 2018.

At approximately 10:48 p.m., 63-year-old David Begay was crossing the street at 500 N. Main Street when he was struck, police say.

He had no identification on him and remained unidentified for a time.

It is believe Begay was a transient at the time of his death, police say.
