LDS Church releases new videos about temple endowments, garments
Two new videos published Wednesday on YouTube explain The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple endowment and wearing of the temple garments.
The video "What Is a Temple Endowment?" defines what a temple ordinance is and why it is sacred to Church members.
The video explains that the temple endowment ceremony explains Heavenly Father's love for all of his children and presents the plan of happiness from the creation of the world, fall of Adam and Eve and the central role of Jesus Christ.
The video "What Are Temple Garments?" explains there are no outer religious vestments in ordinary worship services of the Church.
However, many faithful Latter-day Saints wear a garment under their clothing that has deep religious significance, the video says.
Similar in design to ordinary modest underclothing, it comes in two pieces and is usually referred to as the “temple garment," a prior press release from the Church stated.
That release also stated:
Temple garments are worn by adult members of the Church who have made sacred promises of fidelity to God’s commandments and the gospel of Jesus Christ in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
