LDS Church to close missionary training center in the Dominican Republic
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint is closing its missionary training center (MTC) in the Dominican Republic in January 2019, according to a statement released by church spokesperson Daniel Woodruff.
Church officials are working to figure out what the space will be used for in the future.
The statement says The Church is trying to "seek the best use of resources worldwide according to the needs and demands of each area."
The missionaries who are expected to attended this center will be trained at one of the 12 remaining MTC buildings all over the world, including: Colombia, England, Mexico and Provo, Utah.
